Perpetuum Mortale

Perpetuum Mortale (Forever Mortal) incorporates recycled and repurposed materials, in this case found and antique negatives and photographs from various sources, including an anonymous old family album and a glass plate archive of patients from a rural physician in North Carolina. These images of people are layered into my own images of landscapes and photographic drawings using Photoshop and further altered tonally. The resulting images are intended to evoke memory, loss, mortality and temporality.
